As beauty fades,
as the ground begins to shake,
golden fields become
desolate moonscapes.
On both sides: eye for an eye.
The most important question
to be asked is: why?
Men who decide, but
never fight in a war,
command others to die
while they remain secure.

As language fails,
As human decency goes off the rails,
our attempts to help were sadly to no avail,
on both sides: eye for an eye.
The loss of life and landscape is unjustified.
Mighty men make decisions,
but never fight in a war. They
